ZEEL Spirou strip easter issue 2010

A couple of years ago i came up with this lil

character for comic company but it never made the cut.

Then i was asked to do a strip for the

Easter number of Spirou.

So it seemed appropriate to bring Elvin out of comics limbo.

here is a character sketch i showed my editor Etienne.

a rough rough for the story.

The finished strip, Elvin became Nuton which was a

more appropriate name in french.

As it appeared in the comic, and below, some unedited details

from the strip.

Lewis Stringer did this nice drawing but it was a bit off message.

Betty and Pheobe did these illustrations that were great but a bit too sophisticated for the minizine !

The Camberwell BA illustration external show truly rocked.

The Sunday Market was a really lovely day for me.

I got to see the show and buy some stuff and sell some stuff,

and see some brilliant students just before they leave.

I FINISHED THESE TOTEM EFFIGIES FOR IT WITH MY NEW LATHE!

ORSON STORMED it with a his cartooning.
